Editorial standards
Our aim is to help readers understand a file problem, choose a reversible next step and check the result.
Sources and examples
When a guide describes an application-specific feature, we link to the relevant official documentation where available. Menu names and behavior can vary by version. Numerical scenarios, sample filenames and practice exercises are illustrative unless a guide explicitly describes an actual test and its setup.
Testing claims
We do not describe an explanatory workflow as a hands-on test. A guide should say what was tested when it reports measured results. Readers should preserve originals and check outputs on their own device before relying on a conversion or recovery workflow.
Use of AI
AI tools assist with drafting, organization and illustrations. Generated illustrations are decorative explanations, not screenshots or evidence that an application was tested. Application instructions are checked against the cited documentation when preparing a guide, but errors and version differences can still occur.
Corrections and updates
Send a specific issue through our contact page. We aim to correct material inaccuracies and clarify steps that are ambiguous. Dates shown on articles reflect their publication or revision; they do not mean every supported device was retested on that date.
Advertising and recommendations
The site is being prepared for advertising. If affiliate links are added, the relevant article will disclose the commercial relationship. We do not sell guaranteed file recovery, guaranteed compatibility or paid placement described as independent testing.
Scope
These guides cover ordinary personal file tasks. Workplace rules and the requirements of the document owner take priority for managed devices or restricted material. A general guide cannot establish whether a particular private file is safe to upload or modify.
